Some more Christmas time
|
|
While many people over the world believe that Christmas has come and gone, a sizable population of Christians in the world will yet be celebrating the holy day soon.
Due to a difference in calendars, Jan. 6th marks Christmas Eve for many Orthodox churches and Christmas will be celebrated on Thursday.
As you may know, most Russians, Ukrainians and Belorussians do not celebrate Christmas on December 25, but instead do so on January 7th. The date is different because the Russian Orthodox church uses the old 'Julian' calendar for religious celebration days. Christmas Eve on January 6th is the day before Christmas and has special celebration and traditional Christmas meal is served after the first star appears in the sky.
It's a very special holiday so don't forget to send your greeting to your friends in these countries:
Russia
Ukraine
Belarus
Moldova
Georgia
Kazakhstan
Bulgaria
Serbia
Montenegro
Macedonia
Romania
Greece
Israel
Egypt
Eritrea
Ethiopia
They will surely be happy to hear from You!
Stay loved and happy always!
